Gender stereotypes

From the moment they are born, girls and boys are socialised very differently.

  5. I would expect that eventually, the girls will begin to grow bigger, due to their increased muscularity, while the boys shrink into smaller and weaker partners. Have you ever considered illustrating such a scenario?

    1. My only concession to fantasy is the switching of traditional gender/power roles. After that I try to keep things realistic. I think.

  6. Girls bigger than boys is not something unreal, not all the girls are so diminutive, nor all the males are all so giant and muscular.

What happens in the "reality" of man´s world is that big men prefer diminutive girls, and small girls prefer big men. But that´s only a stereotype of this "macho" world.

In fact in the reality there are many many women and men that dont fit in that stereotype, it is not even a surprise to see many women taller than many men.

I think that if the world were really dominated by women, they would not promote the prototype of men stronger and taller than women, typical of this sexist world dominated by men.

What´s more, an image of a diminutive girl dominating a giant a super muscular man, is totally contradictory, so that it doesn´t seem really realistic, but absurd and very weird.

So if you really wanted to hold it "realistic", the super body of men you put in the images, makes it seem totally the contradictory and sexist in detriment to women.

At least they could be of the same size to look logical.

It´s kind of bittersweet to see the images, it´s a pitty, because the theme is very good, but to see those big and muscular men, something doesn´t fit.

    1. The men I paint aren't at all "giant" or "supermuscular", you seem to be confusing my gallery with someone else's.

Gender stereotypes do emphasise sexual dimorphism but men are on average bigger than women. It's just a fact.

If females appear dominant in my images it is based on their *social* dominance, in which size is not important.

You and I are just interested in different things.
