The family Dégenfeld

The industrialist Barbara Dégenfeld with her husband and three sons (1854). There is also a portrait of Dégenfeld on her own:

Both after Miklós Barabás.

  1. is the painting of the degenfeld family morphed or in reality the whole family crossdressed for the portrait.

  2. The painting is Photoshopped. Google "family degenfeld" and you'll find the original.

  3. That looks like Arany János, below.

He was the one who was forced to surrender his clothes and dignity to the formidable Ms. Degenfeld. She just added them to the wardrobe she took from her husband.

TWO vanquished and humiliated patriarchs. Delicious.
